University Town Halls

To increase communication and encourage sharing ideas and general information, President Charles Wight is holding periodic Town Halls with the University's various shared governance groups. Although, each Town Hall is hosted in conjunction with a specific governance group, the entire campus and greater Salisbury communities are invited to attend. Other SU Town Halls may be held throughout the year, as well.

SU Town Hall with Shared Governance – March 7, 2022

Salisbury University shared governance organizations hosted a virtual Town Hall with SU administrators on Monday, March 7, 2022. SU President Charles Wight was joined by Dr. Karen Olmstead, provost and senior vice president of academic affairs; Dr. Dane Foust, vice president of student affairs; and Janet Wormack, vice president of administration and finance. They discussed new diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as off-campus student safety, mental health resources, cybersecurity, and budget and enrollment projections for fiscal year 2023.   • February Town Hall: SU President Charles Wight joined the Student Government Association and Graduate Student Council to host a virtual University Town Hall on Thursday, February 4, 2021. The SGA was represented by President David McCreary. The GSC was represented by President Kacie Cassar. SU Chief of Staff Eli Modlin also participated.   • July Town Hall: SU President Charles Wight joined the Staff Senate to host a virtual University Town Hall. The Senate was represented by Chair Tabitha Pilchard and Second Chair Vanessa Collins.   • June Town Hall: SU President Charles Wight hosted a virtual Town Hall on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was joined by Joan Williams, associate vice president of diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer, to discuss current events nationally. He also was joined by Dr. Dane Foust, vice president of student affairs; and Victoria Lentz, director of student health services, to discuss plans to return to campus in fall.
